Hello natural hair, curly girl, blogger world!

1 Sep

Welcome to my natural hair blog & thanks for checking me out!  After 27 years of hair do’s & PLENTY of hair “don’ts”, numerous random natural hair questions about transitioning, how-to’s & products…I’ve finally decided to take my Facebook “Random Hair Album” and make it not so random.  I will be bringing you into my everyday hair challenges & hair ‘hook-ups’ (you know those days when you don’t know exactly what you did to your hair but…you hooked it up!).  This is my 1st post and my hair today (8/31/2011) :

This was my ‘starting over’ hair because the night before I did not redo my 2 strand twists (I got home super late).

For this style I first co-washed my hair with Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Conditioner in the shower, rinsed the conditioner once and reapplied leaving some of it in the hair, especially the ends.  I then used a t-shirt (no frizzies) to dry the drippys and sectioned my hair into 4 sections.  Each section I applied a quarter-sized amount (maybe more) of the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and a small amount of the Fantasia IC Gel.  I used the EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) on my scalp and sprayed the very front of my hair with a little water to help lay it down.  I tied the brown shoe lace (yes its an old shoe lace) around my hair twice and was on my way to work.

Note: I am still experimenting with the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie to figure out what styles I like using it with the best and I am surprised that I did like the moisture & softness it left my hair with after being diffused. It did help to define the curls as well, I’ll try it again without the gel and see what happens.

Have you used the Shea Moisture products? If so, what are your fav’s &  what hasn’t been working? I’d love to hear about it!

LATER!
